This new residence was designed to be a summer retreat shared by four siblings and their families. The core of the house is a central great room space, oriented towards a long ocean view and surrounded on three sides by a wrap-around porch offering different places to sit depending on the sun’s location. The porch roof is removed to reveal a pergola roof on the west side to bring daylight into the living room. Four separate bedroom suites pushed to the wings of the house allow flexibility for the family to use the house in different configurations. The architectural team collaborated with the owner’s great interior design skills to make the interior colorful, simple, and functional.
