HOLMES STREET RESIDENCE

The owners of this new home on Holmes Street were recently retired and hoped to build a home that was of a comfortable scale for two but would be welcoming for larger groups of family visitors. Large windows, clean molding profiles, an open floor plan, and the combination of bold paint colors and natural wood throughout the interior complement the clean transitional lines of this home. The triple cedar shingle coursing on the exterior, complemented by horizontal cypress siding on the flanking wings, add decorative detail and texture with low maintenance as the structure ages. The owners enjoy the open floor plan with a first-floor main bedroom suite, some hobby space incorporated into the mudroom, and an upstairs living area for grandchildren. They also appreciate the connected outdoor living areas, including an outdoor shower off the main bedroom suite.
