This fulltime residence was designed with the owners goal of having a home that sat sensitively within the natural landscape of the site. Both the footprint and material selections were made with this mantra in mind. The floor plan is designed to accommodate single level living, with guest rooms on the upper level. A variety of smaller scaled programmatic forms spring off from the main two-story form and are home to a grand living room with cathedral ceiling and glass cupola, an octagonal screened porch, and a garage office with vaulted ceilings and custom arched beams. Unique, yet regionally sensitive, architectural accents were achieved using window color, shingle patterns, as well as the copper accents of a clad chimney, pergola supports, and gutters and downspouts.
