REDBROOK HOUSING
Saltonstall Architects was hired by the Valle Group, the developer of this new village, to create four housing prototypes. The design of the homes is rooted in owner A.D. Makepeace’s agricultural history, a simple “agrarian” architectural style reminiscent of local utilitarian structures used by cranberry farmers. The design intent was to develop smaller-scaled, smarter homes that contrast the oversized Cape and Colonial style architecture that is seen extensively in Plymouth. Community amenities including open space, hiking trails, and a YMCA allow for small home lots and density of the residential neighborhoods. The home designs have proven popular and have succeeded developers’ initial expectations for sales.
