SALTONSTALL ARCHITECTS STUDIO
This former sail lift building was renovated using a collaborative design process that encouraged Saltonstall Architects to design their own workspaces. Workstations were created using a component pipe system with curved work surfaces that encourage collaboration of team members with suspended privacy screens for individual work areas. An internal conference room highlighted by a long curved red wall pulls one back into the studio space and daylighting tubes bring natural light into the room. A glazed overhead door installed in the building’s rear deck provides natural ventilation and an indoor/outdoor feeling to the space. Energy efficient lighting installed is rarely used due to the effective daylighting into the space.
