The Vineyard Gazette just wrote about our project based in Vineyard Haven for Vineyard Wind.
The new facility will house the land-based operations for the permanent staff who will maintain, monitor and operate the wind farm. The design of the 14,000-square foot Vineyard Wind Operations and Maintenance facility includes a huge main warehouse, a canteen, several offices, IT space and meeting rooms, as well as staff lockers and a changing area for getting suited up for work on the water. The article states, “The warehouse is the largest singular space in the facility and Vineyard Wind will use it to store spare electrical parts, motors and other equipment for the 837-foot tall turbines…Engineers, warehouse coordinators, safety officials and technicians will all work out of the Vineyard Haven building.” The facility is located adjacent to a new terminal being built on Vineyard Haven harbor where eventually several boats will embark to service the wind farm.
It was an interesting commercial project for us, and we enjoyed collaborating with all of our partners as well as working on the Vineyard. Read the digital copy of the full article here where they describe the building and the scope of the project.
The Vineyard Wind project will be the largest offshore wind farm in the US when the buildout is complete. Learn more @vineyardwindus
