SALTONSTALL ARCHITECTS STUDIO

This former sail loft was renovated from a wide open 3000 square foot space into our design studio. Workstations were created using a component pipe system with curved work surfaces that encourage collaboration between team members; privacy screens were suspended between workstations for individual privacy. An internal conference room was built using daylighting tubes to bring natural light into the room. The long, curved red wall pulls one back into the studio space and creates a dramatic accent to the space while dividing the space in thirds. The central area includes the conference room and storage spaces. The final third includes several small concierge offices with tenants sharing the conference room and other building amenities. A glazed overhead door installed in the back of the studio opens onto a huge deck providing natural ventilation and an indoor/outdoor feeling to the space. Energy-efficient lighting installed throughout is rarely used due to the effective use of daylighting in the space.
